Job summary

Tesco is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our stores in the United Kingdom. The role starts at £15.70 per hour, increasing for stores inside the M25, with additional location-based payments possible. New colleagues are offered a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with suitability for 12 hours if preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in Pharmacy.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Proof of completion of a recognised training program (as indicated).

Responsibilities

• Accurately completing the checking process following a pharmacist's clinical check.
• Proactively identifying customers who need help and offering appropriate information on common ailments and products.
• Taking time to understand customers’ needs and explaining product benefits clearly.
• Advise customers on the range of Pharmacy services available.
• Support pharmacy services and dispensing processes according to SOPs.
• Check dispensed prescriptions for accuracy and legal validity.
• Respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners.
• Ensure dispensary routines and SOPs are followed.
• Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean and uncluttered.
• Meet departmental targets set by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Coach and develop other pharmacy team members when needed.

Education
