Job summary

HCRG Care Group seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the Children’s Community Health Team. You will assess, diagnose and intervene to support children and families, enabling daily living and confidence at home and school.

The role is based in Surrey with hybrid working options, offering ongoing professional development and collaborative MDT support. The ideal candidate holds a Degree in Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration, BAOT membership, and experience with paediatric neurodevelopmental

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration required.
• Knowledge of ASD strategies (e.g. PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
• Post-graduate training or experience in child development and neurodevelopmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality School Based Assessments as part of MDT for children and young people.
• Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans with families and carers.
• Recommend and support use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
• Liaise with health, education, social care and voluntary sectors to ensure holistic care.
• Communicate effectively with children and families, adapting to their needs.
• Contribute to team targets and participate in supervision and meetings.
• Prioritise treatment goals for children with complex needs and ensure appropriate discharge planning.
