Job summary

Avante Care & Support is seeking a Domestic Assistant for Bridge Haven in Canterbury. You will clean resident rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, maintain high hygiene standards, and follow safe cleaning procedures to support residents and staff.

The role offers 30 hours per week, part-time, with pay in the £12.75–£12.95 per hour range. Enhanced DBS and uniform may be provided, with flexible working patterns and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or domestic work preferred.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and well-organised.
• Caring and respectful in a care home setting.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control at all times.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Replenish supplies and report any maintenance issues.
• Use cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Support a welcoming, comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Work in line with health and safety regulations and care home policies.
