Job summary

Dorset Healthcare is seeking a Community Phlebotomist in Weymouth to join the Weymouth Community Team at Weymouth Community Hospital. This part-time role is 24 hours per week, spread over four days, Monday to Friday. We offer flexible hours to support childcare and carers’ responsibilities, with induction training and regular supervision.

Applicants must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to a car. DBS check is required and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Undertake community phlebotomy for housebound patients in their own homes.
• Support nursing team members with delivery of patient care.
• DBS check required; right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Community Phlebotomy for housebound patients in their own home.
• Support nursing team members with delivery of patient care.
• Support and liaise with doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Process various specimens appropriately.
• Undertake blood pressure measurements and record correctly.
• Perform INR tests and work within standing operating procedures for near-patient testing.
• Undertake other clinical duties at the discretion of the lead nurse.
