Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd on behalf of Teach South is seeking Maths Teachers for Hastings and surrounding areas. Roles range from day-to-day supply to longer-term placements, with flexible hours and both full-time and part-time options beginning September 2026.

Daily rate £130–£180 for supply cover, with pay to scale for longer assignments. The role covers KS3-KS4 GCSE preparation, delivering engaging lessons and managing classes.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised teaching experience.
• Secondary Maths teaching experience.
• Strong subject knowledge.
• Confidence teaching through to GCSE.
• Effective classroom management.
• Positive and professional approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4.
• Teaching towards GCSE where required.
• Delivering engaging and well-planned lessons.
• Following school schemes of work and existing lesson plans.
• Planning and preparing lessons for longer-term placements.
• Assessing student progress.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.
• Supporting students of different abilities.
