Job summary

Chartwells is recruiting a dedicated Kitchen Assistant (Zero Hours) to support daily operations in education catering. This permanent casual role is contracted to 0 hours per week, with a 43.6-week per year pattern, offering flexibility and development within a supportive team.

You will prepare high-quality food, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and handle deliveries with care. The post requires reliability, good teamwork, and the ability to adapt to shifts; prior food service experience is welcome

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food service preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage prioritised tasks.
• Flexible to work afternoons and shifts as required.
• Strong timekeeping and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Maintain a high standard of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure safe and correct use of all kitchen equipment.
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and supplies.
• Represent Chartwells with a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.
