Job summary

Sammons is recruiting a reliable Kitchen Assistant for ad hoc, temporary shifts in Hastings, East Sussex. You will support the catering team with food preparation, service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Pay is £13.15 per hour and the role is site based in Hastings.

• Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment preferred.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation and service
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
• Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Ensure stock is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed
• Wash up and ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy
• Follow instructions from the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
