Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a flexible, friendly Relief Library Assistant to cover Westbury and Warminster Libraries on a zero-hour basis. You will help customers with queries, locate books, assist with IT, and support shelving and displays to promote our stock and resources.

No prior library experience is required as training will be provided; a minimum of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (A-C) is expected. The role operates under a hybrid model with on-site duties and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
• Training will be provided; previous library experience is not essential.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with queries and help them locate books and information.
• Support customers with IT and digital resources.
• Help keep the library organised through shelving and displays and promote stock.
