Job summary

Advinia is seeking compassionate community carers to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need. This national post focuses on comfort, safety and well-being, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, companionship, medication administration, and mobility support, along with accurate record-keeping and safety practices. Roles include various shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
• Strong interpersonal skills with clients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to follow care plans and health and safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
• A valid driving licence with access to a vehicle is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and meal preparation.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health or behaviour changes.
• Help with mobility and physical exercises to promote well-being.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in hobbies or interests.
