Job summary

Gold Staff is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants for ad-hoc shifts and long-term placements in care homes across Somerset, including Taunton, Yeovil, Minehead and Wells. You will support residents with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily activities while ensuring safety and well-being.

The role offers flexible days, lates, long days, nights and weekend shifts. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months experience, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for high-quality

Qualifications

• 6 months minimum experience in care or support roles.
• Genuine passion for helping others and delivering high-quality care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation.
• Shifts available for days, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming).
• Help with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required.
• Monitor and document clients' health and well-being, report changes.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment adhering to health and safety standards.
• Build trusting relationships and provide companionship and emotional support.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
