Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support regional primary care clinics around Newhaven. The role involves routine clinical tasks, patient-facing procedures and general clinic support within GP environments.

You will contribute to safe patient care by carrying out observations, assisting with clinical tasks and helping run the clinic efficiently across shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Healthcare Assistant experience in GP, community or NHS settings.
• Confident in routine patient observations.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to adapt to new clinics and workflows.
• Phlebotomy experience beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting routine clinical observations
• Supporting treatment room tasks and basic procedures
• Performing ECGs and routine health checks
• Assisting with phlebotomy where trained
• Recording information accurately in clinical systems
• Providing general assistance to nursing and clinical teams
• Helping maintain smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
