Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Bone Densitometry Technician (DEXA) to support the Rheumatology service at St Albans City Hospital. The role offers a full- or part-time pattern with flexible working options and a focus on high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will perform Dexa scans, manage imaging procedures and liaise with the Dexa lead to develop the service. NHS experience and IR(ME) regulatory understanding are desirable.

Qualifications

• BTEC or equivalent credentials in Bone Densitometry or related field.
• Completion of National Training Scheme in Bone Densitometry or equivalent.
• Experience with radiology software and Dexa workflows.

Responsibilities

• Perform Bone Density scans and analyses following departmental protocols.
• Use specialised Dexa software and Microsoft Office tools as required.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety while delivering efficient service.
• Contribute to quality assurance programmes and audits.
• Assist in training junior staff and students in Dexa procedures.
