Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Bone Densitometry (DEXA) Scanning Technician to provide specialised technical support in bone density imaging. The role involves handling imaging procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient safety within the Dexa department at St Albans City Hospital.

The post offers the possibility of full-time or part-time hours, with core service hours 08:30–20:00, and potential weekend work; training will be provided to support

Qualifications

• Experience in Bone Densitometry scanning and quality assurance.
• Understanding of IR(ME) Regulations and radiation safety.
• Ability to train staff and supervise junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Perform Bone Density scans and analyze Dexa images.
• Operate specialised Dexa software and keep records up to date.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Support Dexa Lead and contribute to service development.
• Liaise with multi-disciplinary team to ensure smooth workflow.
