Are you a qualified secondary teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities in Wigan?
We’re currently supporting a number of well-regarded secondary schools across the Wigan borough who are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to cover short-term and day-to-day absences.
This is an ideal opportunity for both experienced teachers and early career teachers (ECTs) who want to gain experience in a variety of school settings, without the pressures of planning or marking.
Competitive daily rates between £120–£160 (dependent on experience)
Flexible working – choose your availability (2 to 5 days per week)
Opportunities to work across a wide range of Wigan secondary schools
Ongoing support from a local education consultant who understands your needs
Roles that allow you to focus on teaching – no planning or marking required
Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Supporting learners of varying abilities to remain on task
Building positive relationships with students and staff
UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (placements included)
A confident, adaptable teaching style
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A commitment to delivering engaging, high-quality lessons
Our client schools are located across Wigan, with good links via the M6, A577 and A580. Schools are also easily accessible via public transport from Greater Manchester, Bolton, Leigh, St Helens, and surrounding areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
