Job summary

Education World Ltd in the Stockton-on-Tees area is seeking a compassionate Cover Supervisor to support students across local schools. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and help maintain positive learning environments.

The role requires strong classroom management, resilience, and the ability to adapt to different age groups and subjects. DBS update service required, and willingness to travel between schools is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an educational setting (Cover Supervisor, TA, or similar).
• Strong classroom management and engagement skills across age groups.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different subjects and environments.
• Patient, resilient and professional under pressure.
• Current enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across year groups, delivering pre-set work.
• Build positive relationships with students, maintaining high behaviour and engagement.
• Manage classroom behaviour and create a calm, productive learning environment.
• Support students to complete tasks with guidance where needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, leaders and support staff for smooth school days.
• Adapt to different classrooms, age groups and subjects quickly and effectively.
• Provide de-escalation support in challenging situations and follow safeguarding policies.
• Take registers, monitor attendance and report concerns per safeguarding procedures.
• Model positive behaviour and uphold school values at all times.
