Job summary

University of Leeds seeks an Experimental Officer to join the Leeds Nanotechnology Cleanroom. The role focuses on developing SOPs, training users, and maintaining advanced cleanroom equipment.

You will support processing for researchers and external clients, including SMEs, and help promote capabilities at conferences and events. The post is permanent, with probationary requirements, and flexible working arrangements may be discussed.

Qualifications

• Degree in physics, engineering or a related discipline; PhD preferred.
• Extensive, relevant industrial experience also acceptable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide user training for cleanroom processes.
• Operate and maintain a broad range of specialist cleanroom equipment.
• Support processing for Leeds researchers and external users (fee-for-service).
• Promote cleanroom capabilities at conferences, trade fairs and through outreach.
• Develop collaborations with external academics and SMEs; engage with industry partners.
