Job summary

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Flexible Cleaning Operative for James Gillespie's High School. Salary is £26,205 - £26,525 (pro-rata for part-time) for 10 hours/week, 52 weeks.

Pattern is Monday–Friday 18:00–20:00, with a view to balancing commitments and secure, permanent employment. You will join the Facilities Management team, delivering cleaning across our estate to keep buildings safe and clean.

Qualifications

• PVG Scheme check may be required for this post.
• Flexible hours and multiple shifts available across days/times.

Responsibilities

• To empty litter and recycling bins.
• Cleaning of all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
• Cleaning of all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenishment of washroom consumables.
• Emergency and reactive cleaning as required (e.g., graffiti, body fluid spillages).
• Care and cleanliness of equipment used in carrying out duties.
• Other tasks as may reasonably be required related to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings.
