Overview

Position: Flexible Cleaning Operative – Drumbrae/Corstorphine/Gylemuir

Salary: £25,322-£25,623 (pro rata for part time). Hours: 15 per week, 52 weeks. Monday–Friday 4–7pm.

As a cleaner with the City of Edinburgh Council, you’ll deliver a vital cleaning service across our estate to ensure properties are safe and clean places to work or learn. Major tasks / job activities

• To empty litter and recycling bins.
• Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
• Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
• Emergency and reactive cleaning as required, e.g. removal of graffiti, body fluid spillages, accidental spillages.
• Care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the duties.
• Other tasks as may reasonably be required, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings where required.
• Deliver to cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement to meet overall standards.
• Facilities Management has keyholding responsibilities to enable opening/closing of buildings; the post holder may be required to be a key holder, including operation of security alarm systems, closing windows/doors, switching off lights, and ensuring premises are left safe and secure when closing.
