Job summary

Norfolk County Council is seeking compassionate Casual Residential Children's Practitioners to work across our children's residential services for ages 5 to 18. The role involves providing day-to-day care, intimate care, and helping with education and independence in a supportive residential setting.

This casual contract offers flexible hours, shift patterns including nights, and pathways for NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare within two years of appointment.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, young people or families in care or life experience.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to achieve NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare within two years.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and supervision for children and young people with disabilities.
• Provide personal intimate care including feeding, washing, toileting, dressing and medication administration.
• Build positive relationships and support education, independence and development.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
• Work as part of a team to create a safe, warm home environment.
