Job summary

Riverside in Lewisham is seeking a Relief Worker to provide high quality, customer-oriented care under supervision. You will support customers in a safe, respectful environment and help promote health and wellbeing, while maintaining dignity and confidentiality across duties.

The role requires empathy, flexibility to cover shifts at short notice, and strong communication with customers, families and health professionals as part of a responsive housing and support team.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people from various backgrounds and sectors of society.
• Compassion, patience and empathy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to cover shifts, sometimes at short notice.
• Approachable with a positive attitude.
• Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements.
• Knowledge of safeguarding adults at risk would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, customer-oriented service.
• Support customers under the direction of the scheme manager and team.
• Promote dignity and wellbeing in a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with colleagues.
• Liaise with family, GP’s and health/social care professionals.
• Undertake training and development as required.
• Assist with general cleaning and security duties.
