Job summary

Acre Wood Academy in Crowborough, East Sussex, is seeking Bank Teaching Assistants to provide flexible cover across the school and support teachers in delivering engaging lessons. This casual role fits around other commitments and offers meaningful experience in a dedicated academy community.

The successful candidate will support pupils with learning and development, with training provided. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are part of the process to join our welcoming team.

Qualifications

• Caring, patient and positive approach.
• Enjoy working with children and young people.
• Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different classrooms and situations.
• Works well as part of a team while using own initiative.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Previous experience in a school or supporting children is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover on an as-needed basis across the academy.
• Support pupils in learning and personal development, individually and in small groups.
• Assist teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
• Help create a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources.
• Support pupils with additional learning, communication or behavioural needs where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
