Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) for flexible bank hours in the Talking Therapies service in Cheltenham. The role supports waiting time improvements, delivering low-intensity interventions mainly by phone and in groups, with some face-to-face work.

Bank basis allows flexible scheduling and supervision opportunities. The post requires a PWP certificate, degree-level education, and eligibility for BABCP/BPS

Qualifications

• Educated to degree standard in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness, e.g. Psychology, social sciences or health, or equivalent gained through prior relevant experience and accredited courses.
• Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions
• Has completed the LTC IAPT top up training
• Has completed the IAPT supervisor training (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
• Assess and support people with common mental health problems in self-management of their recovery.
• Deliver low-intensity treatments, primarily by telephone and in groups, with some face-to-face work.
• Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas for change and assess risk.
• Determine suitability of new referrals and refer or escalate as needed to maintain access to treatment.
• Provide information and support for evidence-based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments.
• Educate and involve family members as necessary.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings related to referrals or clients in treatment.
• Complete data collection requirements within the service.
