Pay: £12.60 per hour plus benefits

As a Cook on our bank, you'll handle all kitchen duties at our extra care service, including ordering food, menu planning, and ensuring health and safety standards. You'll prepare meals catering to diverse dietary needs and cultural preferences.

Typical shift as a Cook

  • Oversee kitchen management as directed by our Support Coordinator and Service Manager.
  • Prepare and serve three meals daily, plus tea and snacks.
  • Order supplies, maintain stock levels, and record expenditure.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Support our older persons service, which has diverse support needs.

You bring

  • Experience in catering.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Understanding of confidentiality.
  • Sensitivity towards vulnerable individuals.
  • Flexibility to work at short notice, selecting your preferred shifts.

Our team

Join our passionate team led by Senior Client Services Manager Sarah Hill and Client Services Manager Jessica Holman. We pride ourselves on quality food and continuous improvement in our catering services. We foster a supportive environment with regular catch-ups (and plenty of coffee, tea, and biscuits!).

Job details

  • Proficiency with technology for stock management, ordering, record-keeping, and online learning.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required, which we will pay for.
