Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking Functional Skills Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in the GU46 area. You will support learners across ages with a focus on rebuilding confidence and engagement, working through tailored sessions alongside Local Authorities.

Ideal candidates have prior educational experience, strong subject knowledge, and the ability to adapt sessions to individual needs. DBS checks or willingness to obtain one are required, with travel within GU46 welcomed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong subject knowledge in your area of expertise
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the GU46 area
