Ocado Logistics is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, efficient delivery fleet across our sites. You will perform routine mechanical and electrical repairs, install vehicle technology, and help keep our fleet compliant with safety standards.

Qualifications

• A current UK Driving Licence is essential for occasional travel to other locations.
• Proven mechanical expertise with previous experience in motor vehicle maintenance, repair, engineering, or manufacture.
• Diagnostic proficiency and analytical fault-finding skills to identify the root cause of mechanical or electrical issues.
• Technical electrical skills to handle vehicle electrical repairs and the installation or removal of technology like telematics and collision cameras.
• Practical experience with LGV equipment and the ability to perform minor repairs on heavy goods vehicle components.
• Familiarity with workshop safety, including a good understanding of Safe Systems of Work and H&S legislative requirements.
• Competence in using specialised tools and the ability to work at heights as necessary to complete vehicle or site repairs.
• Administrative accuracy for completing defect documents in line with legal requirements and company procedures.
• Basic computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite to manage parts ordering and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Executing mechanical repairs including electrical work, wheel changes, and defect repairs as documented in driver reports.
• Performing technical installations and removals of critical vehicle technology such as telematics and collision cameras.
• Conducting periodic van health check inspections and assessing refrigeration unit defects prior to specialist engineer call-outs.
• Maintaining site-specific equipment, including minor repairs to LGV equipment and delivery tools like sack barrows.
• Managing technical administration by ordering spare parts, controlling stock, and completing FMS cost pages and insurance invoices.
