Job summary

A leading transport service provider based in Luton is seeking a Skilled Shift Engineer to ensure the operational readiness of their fleet. Responsibilities include conducting maintenance, diagnosing faults, and performing repairs on various vehicles. Ideal candidates will have experience as a mechanic/engineer and relevant qualifications. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work within a team. Flexibility in working hours, including nights and weekends, is necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a skilled mechanic or engineer in the automotive, heavy vehicle, or rail industry.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and on time, including job sheets and defect reports.
