Detail2 Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Fleet Transport Manager for a leading waste management and environmental services business in Cheltenham. You will lead a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor, ensuring safety, compliance and on-road performance.

The role focuses on owning workshop standards, managing documentation, and driving efficiency across a multi-site fleet with a supportive team culture and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in an HGV or fleet workshop environment.
• City & Guilds HGV Parts 1-3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Class 2 HGV licence and tachograph knowledge.
• Hands-on knowledge: hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanical.
• Understanding of vehicle compliance and operator licence requirements; R2C experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication balancing service delivery with commercial priorities.

Responsibilities

• Leading and motivating a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor.
• Owning the fleet maintenance system (R2C) and LOLER inspection processes.
• Ensuring vehicle documentation is signed off and legally compliant.
• Managing vehicle availability and minimizing downtime.
• Planning labour for workshop efficiency and output.
• Maintaining high standards of safety, organisation and cleanliness.

You’ll run day to day workshop operations, leading a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor. You’ll keep a specialist commercial fleet safe, compliant and on the road. Fleet Transport Manager - Requirements
