Job summary

EP Group is seeking a Vehicle Technician to service, repair and maintain our fleet of FLTs, PPTs and LGVs at the Birmingham headquarters. You will respond to breakdowns, plan proactive maintenance and work closely with Warehouse, Transport and Production teams to minimise downtime.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years repairing Forklift Trucks and LGVs, with proven fleet management experience, knowledge of Loler and Puwer requirements, and a background in Toyota/Mitsubishi FLTs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of Forklift Trucks / Automotive / Plant machinery / LGV.
• Proven experience of managing a fleet of FLTs (mandatory) and LGVs (desirable).
• Strong background in the maintenance and repair of FLTs, ideally Toyota and Mitsubishi.
• Experience of maintenance and repair for LGVs would be an advantage, particularly across Volvo and DAF trucks.
• Knowledge of LOler inspection requirements
• Working knowledge of Puwer assessment would be a distinct advantage
• Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills
• Ability to plan and manage own workload and work independently
• Strong communication skills to work closely with the different areas of the business
• FLT Licenses would be extremely beneficial

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance and servicing of our fleet of FLTs and LGVs
• Reactive breakdown coverage across the site
• Develop a proactive maintenance and service plan for our existing fleet
• Diagnose breakdowns and order the required parts for repair
• Develop a network of spare parts suppliers that meet our fleet requirements
• Prepare the fleet to comply with Loler regulations
