Think Severn Trent is just about water? Think again. Our Transport team keeps over 3,000 vehicles on the road — from tankers and vans to company cars — making sure our people and resources get where they need to be, safely and efficiently.

But we’re not just maintaining a fleet — we’re helping build a better future. We’re committed to 100% electric vehicles by 2030, cutting carbon emissions, and using 100% renewable energy. It’s all part of our mission to protect the environment and support the communities we serve.

As a fleet technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping essential services running —whilst making a real difference both under the bonnet and in your community. We’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a skilled Fleet Technician with HGV experience to join our team at Staverton in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and thrives on keeping vehicles in top condition. Plus, you’ll get a great work-life balance, as you’ll work a 37-hour week (between 7:30am and 3:30pm), Monday to Friday. Overtime is available but completely optional — and of course, we’ll reward you for any extra hours. What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across a wide range of vehicles and plant, following Severn Trent and manufacturer standards
  • Responding to unplanned maintenance and emergency call-outs
  • Preparing vehicles for annual testing and keeping accurate records in our fleet management system

  • A recognised apprenticeship or a Level 3 qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

At Severn Trent, we don’t just offer a job — we offer a career. You’ll benefit from flexibility, ongoing training, and support to gain further qualifications that help you grow your skills and progress.
