SALARY: £27,269 – £38,460
Career Grade: 4-6 (Grade specifications are detailed on the Job Description)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to come and join our team at Fareham in the Transport Repair Unit (TRU) supporting the council’s front-line services. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday - Friday.
Working in a small team in the vehicle workshop, you will be undertaking maintenance of council vehicles & plant equipment, including inspection, servicing, MOT preparation, diagnosing, and repairs on all types of council fleet vehicles.
The role is career graded, enabling the right person to have the opportunity to grow and develop their skills and experience. Continual training and development will be provided to meet the ever-changing automotive sector.
As part of the Transport Repair Unit team, you will be undertaking the following:
About You
You must have Automotive qualifications Level 3 in Heavy or Light vehicles. You will have good customer care skills along with ICT, verbal, and written communication skills. Knowledge and experience of vehicle and plant maintenance is essential, as is a willingness to work unsocial and additional hours, Public and Statutory holidays in all weather conditions.
