Job Description

We are seeking a Fleet Service Mechanic to join our busy workshop located in Dalwood, near Axminster. The role involves servicing and maintaining a large fleet of mainly transit vans. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that values a positive culture and staff development. Candidates should have approximately 5 years of relevant experience and qualifications, and demonstrate dedication, strong work ethic, and good communication skills.

Reporting to the Depot Operations Manager, the main responsibilities include repairing and servicing the fleet of light commercial vehicles (currently around 60), ensuring our landscapers remain on the road. The role also involves MOT preparation and delivery, as well as maintaining and repairing a small fleet of trailers and tractors. Additionally, supporting the repair and maintenance of 2-stroke horticultural equipment is part of the duties.

Essential requirements include strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with other mechanics, and an understanding of site Health and Safety protocols. Maintaining a tidy workspace is also important.

The position can be full-time or part-time. If part-time, working on Mondays is required.

The basic working hours are from 08:00 to 17:00.
