Overview

The role

As a Fleet Programmes Senior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering the UK’s No.1 Defence Priority - ensuring submarine availability through complex, high-impact programmes. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead critical projects that directly support national security, while developing your leadership and project management expertise in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.

Day-to-day you’ll be:

  • Leading on Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality within the project.
  • Developing project documentation including plans, schedules, risk registers and technical specifications.
  • Delivering projects to agreed scope, time and budget, aligned with business success criteria.
  • Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for project delivery.
  • Planning and monitoring programme performance, reporting regularly to senior stakeholders.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane.

Essential experience
  • Proven ability to manage complex situations and adapt strategies effectively.
  • Skilled in coaching and developing teams.
  • Proficient in project life cycles, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Strong leadership across multiple related teams and functions.
  • Experience within the UK Submarine Enterprise - Desirable
Qualifications
  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent.
  • Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5.
