Summary

The Fleet/Plant Auditor role is integral to ensuring operational efficiency and compliance within the Group's fleet and plant management and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices in the management of fleet and plant equipment. The role involves conducting audits, inspections, and reviews to identify areas for improvement and maintain operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct spot checks on fleet and plant equipment for compliance with company standards.
  2. Ensure all fleet and plant assets are logged correctly in tracking systems.
  3. Review vehicle and plant inspection checklists completed by drivers/operators.
  4. Monitor fuel usage and mileage reports for anomalies.
  5. Investigate any reported defects or safety concerns and escalate accordingly.
  6. Perform site visits to audit fleet and plant assets for compliance.
  7. Check driver/operator license and certification validity.
  8. Review service and maintenance schedules to ensure adherence.
  9. Report non-compliance or risk concerns to the Fleet/Plant Manager.
  10. Liaise with workshop and maintenance teams to verify completed repairs.
  11. Conduct in-depth audits on a sample of fleet and plant assets.
  12. Review telematics and GPS tracking data for trends or anomalies.
  13. Analyse fuel efficiency reports and identify potential misuse.
  14. Assess compliance with health and safety regulations.
  15. Hold meetings with stakeholders to discuss audit findings and recommendations.
  16. Investigate incidents involving fleet or plant equipment and provide reports.

Technical Skills & Experience

  1. Extensive experience within the same role, or similar within the civil engineering and/or utilities industry.
  2. Self-driven, results-oriented, with a 'can do' attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.
  3. Problem-Solving Skills.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
  5. Confident, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with workers at all levels within a business.
  6. Ability to be proactive, always.
  7. Excellent attention to detail.
  8. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  1. A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  2. GCSE's Grade 9-4 or equivalent.
  3. Previous experience in fleet/plant auditing, compliance, or a related role.
  4. Knowledge of fleet and plant machinery operations.
  5. Certification in transport auditing or fleet compliance (desirable).
