Job description
Overview

As a Fleet Operative Driver, you'll be part of a vital team supporting the UK's defence operations. You'll provide safe and reliable transport for military personnel and equipment across the UK and occasionally overseas. This is a hands-on role where your driving skills will directly contribute to national readiness and operational success.

Responsibilities
  • Driving military and civilian vehicles, including electric vehicles, HGVs, and coaches
  • Transporting personnel and equipment to training exercises and operational duties
  • Performing Level 1 (User) maintenance checks before, during, and after use
  • Responding to customer queries with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Supporting fleet operations through administrative tasks
  • The role is based onsite at the Royal School of Military Engineering, with Monday to Friday working times totaling 37 hours per week
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Proven experience working with vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including potential overtime
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Full UK Category B driving licence
  • Full UK Category D driving licence
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
