Job summary

Essential Employment is recruiting a Senior Technical Support Officer in Newport on a full-time temporary basis. The role provides technical leadership and support for fleet management and workshop services, ensuring compliance with legislation and high service standards.

You will supervise staff, assist management with day-to-day operations, oversee vehicle maintenance, monitor contractor performance and contribute to procurement, reporting and service improvements. The hourly rate is £182.85.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering fleet management and workshop services.
• Ability to supervise operational staff and provide training.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance regulations.
• Experience with procurement activities related to fleet.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support in fleet management and workshop services.
• Assist management in day-to-day operation of fleet maintenance and workshop facilities.
• Ensure compliance with fleet operations legislation and standards.
• Supervise and support operational staff with guidance and training.
• Manage vehicle maintenance programme and inspections in line with requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure value for money and quality of service.
• Support procurement activities relating to fleet services and equipment.
• Undertake depot audits, vehicle inspections and compliance checks.
• Investigate and resolve fleet-related issues and implement improvements.
• Produce reports and performance data for senior management.
