The Fleet Manager with oversee and lead our HVAC mechanical servicing company's fleet operations. You will play a pivotal role in partnering with our fleet management company to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of our vehicle fleet and supervise a team of fleet administrators to oversee all aspects of fleet management to support the organizational needs from our factories, corporate, parts and service locations across the United States and Canada.

What you will do:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fleet strategy for Daikin Applied and its subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational needs, and industry best practices.

  • Oversee and integrate fleet operations across multiple subsidiaries and business units, ensuring consistent policies, efficient resource allocation, and shared cost-saving initiatives.

  • Establish a Fleet Center of Excellence (CoE) to centralize fleet best practices, training, data analytics, compliance monitoring, and vendor management, providing guidance to sister organizations

  • Lead the transition of fleet operations from decentralized management to a unified corporate fleet strategy, identifying and implementing standardized processes across all business entities.

  • Drive fleet innovation through advanced telematics, fuel efficiency programs, and sustainability initiatives, ensuring fleet assets align with cost reduction, environmental goals, and long-term company strategy.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of fleet administrators, field operators, and safety coordinators across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring operational excellence and professional development.

  • Oversee vendor relationships and contract negotiations with third-party fleet management companies, OEMs, and service providers to secure optimal pricing, allocation, and production schedules.

  • Develop financial models and forecasting strategies to assess and mitigate fleet-related risks, ensuring cost-effective decisions on vehicle acquisitions, fuel usage, maintenance, and disposal strategies across Daikin Applied and its affiliates.

  • Ensure compliance with fleet policies, safety regulations, and evolving industry standards by proactively monitoring changes in legislation and implementing necessary adjustments.

  • Collaborate with mergers & acquisitions teams to develop a playbook for fleet integration, ensuring seamless transition of fleet assets and policies when onboarding new business units or divesting assets.

  • Expand the company's risk management framework by enhancing safety programs, improving driver accountability, leveraging telematics data, and optimizing insurance strategies across all subsidiaries.

  • Lead the development of fleet performance dashboards, utilizing data-driven insights to benchmark operational efficiency, cost metrics, driver safety, and vehicle utilization across all entities.

  • Develop and implement a fleet policy governance structure that ensures subsidiaries adhere to company-wide best practices while allowing for localized adaptations as needed.

  • Facilitate cross-functional leadership collaboration with operations, finance, compliance, safety, and risk management teams across all subsidiaries, positioning fleet management as a strategic driver for operational efficiency.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by benchmarking fleet KPIs against industry standards, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and efficiency gains across Daikin and its sister organizations.

  • Maintain budget oversight for the corporate and subsidiary fleet programs, ensuring financial sustainability, cost transparency, and alignment with long-term business objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years of related work experience.

  • 3+ years of management experience.

  • Experience in implementing telematics and GPS tracking systems.

  • Familiarity with inventory management practices.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Proficiency in fleet management software and tools.

  • Budget management and financial acumen.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in HVAC or mechanical servicing industry

  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations related to HVAC and fleet management.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $73,300 - $120,000 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade in which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
