Qualifications

Fleet Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing our commercial fleet, including diesel and compressed natural gas trucks, tractor trailers, gasoline service trucks, reefers, and vans.

Job Requirements

  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years
  • Preferred Experience: Thermo King, Refrigerant R-404A Certification, CNG equipment, preventative maintenance on tractors, experience with class 8 vehicles
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications: Brake certifications, PA Class 3, 4, or 7 Inspection, Tractor/Trailer Inspections, Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred Certifications: Valid Class A CDL
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 100 pounds

Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to road calls using fleet repair trucks or tow services.
  • Install, replace, and repair refrigerants, brakes, engines, transmissions, batteries, and other components.
  • Operate equipment safely according to all safety protocols.
  • Create and enter work order data, including parts used, in fleet maintenance software.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Review equipment repair history and perform system upgrades.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles per DOT standards, including oil changes, filter checks, greasing, and inspections.
  • Inspect and maintain trailers, including lubrication, door checks, and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel, CNG, gasoline trucks, and vans.
  • Diagnose malfunctions, plan work procedures, and use appropriate tools and testing instruments.
  • Inspect safety devices and make adjustments as needed.
  • Test drive repaired vehicles to ensure DOT compliance.
  • Conduct DOT and state inspections on tractors and trailers.
