An exciting position has arisen to join the Yorkshire Ambulance Service as a Fleet Logistics Assistant/Driver. This is a full-time, permanent role based on a 4 on 4 off shift within the Fleet Department.
As a Fleet Logistics Assistant, you will work as part of the Fleet, Estates and Facilities Team, supporting the transportation, movement, and care of operational and non-operational vehicles for maintenance, repair, and staffing requirements.
This role is primarily driving, requiring a C1 driving licence. Additionally, the successful candidate must be capable of carrying out logistics tasks, including light mechanical repairs (such as replacing bulbs and wipers, checking tyre pressures, jump-starting vehicles) and moderate lifting tasks related to delivering oils and lubricants to ambulance stations.
This support role is vital for the department and Trust, involving driving various vehicles across the county for local and county-wide tasks. Responsibilities include ensuring vehicles are fuelled, completing daily vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness of workshop facilities, and supporting vehicle maintenance and audits.
The post involves working with minimal supervision, across a large geographical area, using initiative to solve problems. The role also includes maintaining a safe working environment and supporting workshop technical staff as needed.
