Depot Manager

Our client is a leading provider of commercial vehicle and trailer rental solutions. They have been a trusted haulage partner for businesses across the UK for many years, offering tailored, flexible truck and trailer rental solutions.

They are seeking a skilled Depot/Business Development Manager who can manage vehicle maintenance, costs, and compliance operations for their fleet.

Depot management and excellent customer service are at the heart of everything they do—key to differentiating themselves from other hire companies.

About you:

You will need to be a self-starter, motivated, and an excellent communicator.

You should also have experience in commercial vehicle rentals, with a background in sales and operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Management of a busy depot
  2. Sales
  3. Staff management, recruitment, training, and health and safety
  4. Vehicle management
  5. Maintenance/workshop management

Duties:

  1. Ensure the smooth running of the depot and thorough management of equipment, personnel, and processes
  2. Manage all fleet compliance issues and procedures
  3. Deal with customer requests, inquiries, and queries efficiently and professionally
  4. Provide accurate costings to customers
  5. Demonstrate strong communication skills with customers and employees at all levels
  6. Process hire contracts and ensure documentation accuracy
  7. Arrange delivery and collection of orders in accordance with customer requirements
  8. Suggest and implement process improvements

This is a full-time position, working 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch, and every third Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM.

Salary: £35k plus commission and a company car, dependent on experience.
