An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fleet Business Manager – Trent 700 to join our Contract Management Team within the Trent Fleet and Mature Engines Value Stream.

As the Fleet Business Manager – Trent 700, you are accountable to optimise the value generated from our Trent 700 fleet, with a unique line of sight from business driver through to P&L outcome. This broad role requires a strong understanding of our Long Term Service Agreement structures, an ability to creatively shape revenue and cost drivers to harness value, and an ability to balance internal financial aims whilst recognising customer satisfaction and operational priorities.

Sitting within the Trent Fleet and Mature Engines Value Stream and reporting directly to the SVP-Contract Management, collaboration is essential, within and beyond the immediate team, working closely with the Delivery Organisations – notably the Customer Team – to optimise value to Rolls-Royce and improve overall margin.

The successful applicant will help drive continued value from the most lucrative fleet of aircraft within the Civil Aerospace portfolio, joining the team at a critical juncture in the Trent 700’s lifecycle, as we proactively shape the second half of the product’s in-service life. The nature of the product, the scale of the fleet, and our team culture, collectively create opportunity for continuous learning and development, and access to a wide breadth and depth of experiences

Responsibilities:

In this role you will take overall ownership of the Long Term Service Agreement Contract Review Packs (CRPs) to optimise business returns, as well as:

  • Optimise profit outcomes as required across different time horizons, including Budget (current year), Five Term Plan (1-5 years) and whole product lifecycle.
  • Use business acumen alongside revenue and cost data with scenario planning tools to define, develop and maintain long-term Project strategies that optimise through-contract profit (e.g. commercial management, cost optimisation, revenue strategy).
  • Integrate with Cost Managers within the Contract Management team to prioritise appropriate action in minimising both product and lifecycle cost.
  • In line with the Keep Engines Earning Strategic initiative. develop extension, transition and conversion (passenger to freighter), and upsell, opportunities, working intimately with the Customer Team in this regard, ensuring clarity of Value Stream objectives.
  • Integrate with Value Stream Finance team to ensure robust financial planning and forecasting measures are in place, and compliance with standard business review processes.
  • Monitor and understand the levers affecting aftermarket business profitability (e.g. engine flying hours, stage length, derate, shop visits, warranties, guarantees) and manage actions required to address risks or deliver improvement opportunities.
  • Manage any contractual and non-contractual risks whether customer or vendor that could impact Value Stream financial performance. Recommend Value Stream policy including any Commercial Authorisations or mitigating actions.
