Job description

Yorkshire Ambulance Service: Ancillary Services Team is offering an opportunity for a Premise Cleaner at our Head Quarters in Wakefield. This is an optional shift of 25 hours per week, with shift options starting at 5am or 6am. Shifts are 5 hours long, Monday to Friday, with working days and times dependent on operational needs, as the Yorkshire Ambulance Service operates 24/7. Allocated Bank Holiday working is required. A basic Physical Capability Assessment (PCA) is mandatory prior to any unconditional employment offer. Please read and understand the attached job description before completing your application. The application must include comprehensive details of relevant experience and knowledge aligning with the person specification. Duties include:

  1. Station/Site Cleaning: Undertaking cleaning, decontamination, and related tasks to meet high standards of cleanliness and Infection Prevention and Control measures across our stations and sites.
  2. Ensuring activities comply with Trust Cleaning Protocols, procedures, and daily schedules.
  3. Maintaining cleanliness standards across various areas including entrances, toilets, kitchens, gyms, training rooms, offices, external areas, and more.
  4. Managing cleaning supplies and recording daily activities, including urgent spillages, ad-hoc, and deep cleaning tasks.
  5. Using basic IT for communication and record-keeping, including emails and timesheets.
Training includes NVQ Level 2 & NCFE IPC Level 2. A flexible attitude towards schedule changes and site support is required, with the ability to work independently, plan tasks effectively, and communicate with senior staff. The successful candidate must undertake a 12-15 minute Physical Capability Assessment. Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust covers nearly 6,000 square miles, serving over five million people.
