Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Thirsk, UK is seeking a Samples Assistant to join a small team. You will weigh, prepare, label and pack food flavouring samples to meet customer orders with accuracy and efficiency, following procedures, hygiene, and safety standards.

You will handle sample pots and packaging materials, maintain stock levels, and support shipping and production. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and good teamwork to ensure timely delivery and traceability.

• Minimum Level qualifications - GCSE or A Level. Experience of working in a laboratory would be beneficial, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh and prepare food flavouring samples for external and internal customers.
• Ensure customer orders are completed within required timescales and priorities.
• Ensure sample labels and documentation accurately reflect product, batch/lot and traceability information.
• Handle food flavourings and packaging materials safely and in line with procedures.
• Maintain stock levels of sample pots, buckets, boxes and other consumables.
• Carry out regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify stock discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organized working area per hygiene and safety standards.
• Follow all relevant company procedures and report quality, stock or operational issues.
• Assist the wider team with shipping, production and other operational activities.
