Job summary

Sensient Flavors is seeking a creative Flavor Chemist to join the Europe Technical team. You will develop new flavor concepts for beverages, dairy, confectionery and bakery, collaborating with applications, sales and supply chain to ensure quality and cost targets.

The role is based in Milton Keynes (UK) or Illkirch (France) and requires a chemistry or food science background and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Food Science/Technology.
• Flavor creation experience in the food industry, within the Sweet or Beverages category.
• Good communication skills, with full fluency in written and oral English.
• Ability to think strategically and analytically within short time frames.
• Capability to stay focused under pressure and translate results directly into new products which meet our customers' requirements.
• The ability to adapt to a constantly moving market.
• Since this is a creative role, you possess problem solving abilities and can see things through.

Responsibilities

• Create new innovative flavor concepts which meet the customer expectations in terms of quality, application and price
• Work closely with the applications team, with joint responsibility for the evaluation and validation of flavor concepts in applications such as beverage, dairy, confectionary and bakery products
• You are responsible for creating commercially feasible flavors, adhering to formula guidelines, regulations and scale-up procedures
• Use your knowledge of raw materials and recipes to rapidly and efficiently duplicate competitor products in accordance with project parameters and customer requirements
• Support the Operations team in case of quality issues with the raw materials, processing or finished products
