Building Careers UK is seeking a skilled Flat Roofing Estimator for our client in Greater Manchester to prepare accurate estimates and tenders for flat roofing projects. You will review drawings, produce take-offs, obtain supplier quotes, and liaise with clients and project teams throughout the tender process.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Estimator within the roofing or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems, including felt, single-ply, EPDM, GRP, or liquid roofing.
• Experience pricing commercial roofing projects would be highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good Microsoft Excel and IT skills.
• A proactive and organised approach to managing multiple tenders.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate estimates and competitive tenders for flat roofing projects.

• Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks.

• Supporting project handovers to the operational and commercial teams.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Assisting with continuous improvement of estimating procedures and cost databases.

Location: Greater Manchester

Salary/Package - £45,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

Our client is a long-established roofing contractor with over 60 years of experience delivering high-quality roofing solutions across Greater Manchester and the North West. Specialising in both commercial and residential roofing, they provide a comprehensive range of services including flat roofing, single-ply systems, felt roofing, EPDM, GRP, slate, tile, leadwork, and new-build roofing projects.

Known for their commitment to quality workmanship, technical expertise, and outstanding customer service, they work alongside developers, principal contractors, public sector organisations, and private clients on projects ranging from repairs and refurbishments to large-scale new-build developments. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Flat Roofing Estimator to join their commercial team.

The Role
