Job description

Reymas Group is working with a Merseyside-based Roofing Contractor seeking to hire an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. The company operates within the North West, serving the commercial and industrial sectors. Known for high-quality workmanship and professional service, they boast a strong heritage in their field.

Remuneration Package: GBP55K - GBP65K (negotiable based on experience) + Company Vehicle, Private Medical Healthcare, Pension, Travel Expenses, Bonus Scheme (End of year).

Location: Covering the North West and surrounding areas, including Lancashire, Merseyside, North Wales, Cheshire, and occasionally North Midlands.

Role Overview: The Contracts Manager will oversee the financial and operational management of ongoing projects. Working closely with the Senior Contracts Manager, this role involves a mix of office-based administration and regular site visits. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Responsibilities include managing health and safety protocols, resource management, client liaison, and contractual compliance, all while maintaining company standards and ISO quality and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct scheduled site visits to monitor safety, efficiency, and budget adherence.
  2. Engage with clients throughout project stages to ensure satisfaction and clear communication.
  3. Inspect completed work for quality assurance, managing snagging and remedial works as needed.
  4. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety requirements, briefing all operatives and subcontractors before projects commence.
  5. Manage stock levels and coordinate material deliveries.
  6. Oversee plant hire and ensure proper maintenance and resource allocation.
  7. Maintain updated site files and project documentation to ensure compliance.
  8. Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams for smooth project execution.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, with a focus on budgets and timelines.
  • Experience working on flat roofing projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Strong organizational skills with accurate record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
