Job Description: Electrical Testing and Inspecting Engineer
Location: Liverpool to Birmingham
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday (3 weeks days, 1 week lates - only 4 days paid for 5)

Company Overview
Our Client are an established and growing provider of electrical testing, inspection, and maintenance services across the UK. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Testing and Inspecting Engineer to join their dynamic team, covering multiple commercial contracts across the Liverpool to Birmingham region.

Role Purpose
The Electrical Testing and Inspecting Engineer will be responsible for carrying out electrical testing, inspections, and remedial repairs to a wide variety of commercial properties. The role involves ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations, diagnosing and repairing faults, and delivering exceptional service to their clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform electrical testing and inspections in line with industry standards and regulations
  2. Identify faults and carry out remedial work on commercial electrical systems
  3. Provide accurate reporting and documentation for all testing and inspections
  4. Maintain a professional client-facing presence while on-site
  5. Participate in a 1 in 4 call-out rota for emergency repairs
  6. Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant standards
  7. Maintain and manage equipment, tools, and company van
  8. Collaborate effectively within a team of 18 engineers
  9. Provide support for ongoing client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
  1. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  2. AM2 (Achieved the status of Approved Electrician)
  3. 2391 Testing and Inspecting Qualification
  4. Proven experience in electrical testing and inspection
  5. Full UK driving licence

Package and Benefits:
  1. Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  2. Working Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday (3 weeks days, 1 week lates)
  3. Night Shift Pay: Overtime rates + 1 day off after
  4. Call-Out Rota: 1 in 4 (Standby £50, Minimum Call-out £100 for first 4 hours, then 1.5x OT rate)
  5. Overtime Rate: 1.5x standard hourly rate
  6. Company Van + Fuel Card (Available for private use), Tools, Phone & Tablet Provided
  7. Holiday: 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  8. Pension Scheme: Now Pensions - 3% employer contribution
  9. Private Healthcare
  10. Annual Bonus: Up to £1.5k paid twice a year
  11. Training & Development: Ongoing opportunities for upskilling and career progression
  12. Sick Pay: Dependent on length of service

Additional Information
  1. This role involves working across multiple commercial sites, with travel limited to a 30-minute east/west radius of the home base
  2. You'll be working as part of a team of 18 engineers
  3. The role is client-facing, ensuring you build and maintain relationships with one of our longest-standing clients
  4. Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams or face-to-face
