Capel Manor College is seeking an experienced Lecturer to deliver and assess Horticulture Levels 1 and 2 under the GLA Skills Bootcamps program. You will prepare engaging lessons, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback while working with practical instructors to ensure safe, effective learner activities.

The role welcomes applicants with a Degree, HND or related qualification, with experience from industry encouraged.

About The Role and Person

An exciting fixed-term opportunity, funded through the Greater London Authority's Skills Bootcamps, a short, flexible training programme designed around real industry needs.

The programme focuses on Horticulture and Green Skills, helping London's employers find and develop skilled people ready for work. They provide adults with the practical skills, knowledge and work readiness employers are looking for, helping to fill vacancies quickly and cost-effectively.

The ideal candidate will be delivering and assessing to the appropriate examination body standards across Levels 1 and 2 on a range of subjects related to Horticulture, including but not limited to Amenity Horticulture, Plant Science, Propagation, Soil Science, Machinery, Landscaping and Ecology, and basic Garden Design principles.

The post holder will provide high quality teaching and ensure the effective learning of students being taught. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students. They will be supported by a team of practical instructors and technicians with regards to the provision of practical learner activities and ensure that all requirements and regulations relating to health and safety are adhered to at all times.

Applicants should possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in a related discipline. We welcome applications from experienced Lecturers. We also value and accept applications from people currently or who have recently worked in industry that are keen to share their passion, skills and knowledge of the horticulture industry.
