Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Energy and Sustainability Analyst to fast-track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate, utilising skills in Economics, Project Management, Business and Management with a specific focus on renewable energy, data analysis, and sustainability management. The successful candidate will undertake a 25-month collaborative project between Peterhead Port Authority ( https://www.peterheadport.co.uk ) and Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen Business School), jointly funded by Innovate UK and Peterhead Port Authority. The post will be based at the company's premises in Peterhead, with regular visits to Robert Gordon University and occasional travel to other locations.

As an Energy and Sustainability Analyst, your responsibility will be to lead the delivery of a multidisciplinary KTP project focused on energy, sustainability, and innovation.

Peterhead Port Authority is a 400-year-old Trust Port in North East Scotland, supporting the fishing, energy and commercial sectors. The Port's governance framework ensures that it operates in a way that benefits the town of Peterhead and its stakeholders. Peterhead Port has over 50 years\' experience successfully handling the complete needs of the energy industry\'s activities, from traditional oil & gas exploration through construction and hook-up to production and finally to decommissioning. In recent years the Port has become a key hub for the energy industry\'s ongoing transition into new energy. Opportunities for the Port range from the support of Offshore Wind - predominantly with respect to ScotWind and INTOG, Carbon Capture and Storage - where the Port is expected to play a central role in supporting the Acorn Project as the CO2 import terminal, decommissioning of oil and gas assets, as well as potentially offshore wind assets, and the bulk export of clean fuels. In combination with the desire to increase support of these sectors is the requirement to continue and accelerate the Port\'s own decarbonisation journey.

You will receive practical and formal training, gain marketable skills, broaden your knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and gain valuable experience from industrial and academic mentors. The KTP Associate will also benefit from a Personal Development Budget of £4,167.

You must have at least a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in either Economics, Project Management, or Business and Management. An MBA with practical industry experience in a relevant field would be desirable. A passion for energy is essential and prior knowledge of energy strategy, policy and appraisals is desirable.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with excellent conversational and written English, as the ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a range of different individuals-i.e., technical, academic, business, and customers. Team working and flexibility will be a key requirement. Candidates must be innovative, driven and willing to learn new skills.
