The Fixed Income and Currency (FIC) Central Business control Unit (BCU) is a global function of the 1st Line of Defence (1LoD) responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring the non-financial risk framework (NFR). The team interfaces between the 2nd and 3rd Line of Defence, Divisional Control Office Functions and to the Regulators for 1LOD concerns. The function runs a complex change agenda in addition to meeting regulatory governance and reporting.

You will work along-side Business Management and BCU functions. The FIC division spans multiple products and markets including Global Foreign Exchange, Rates, Global Emerging Markets, Counterparty Portfolio Management, Global Credit and Cross Product Structuring.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and oversight of future-state Market Conduct Risk Assessment to identify and assess market conduct and operational risks
  • Present, manage and manipulate large and complex datasets to identify risk trends, control gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Work with different departments to ensure data integrity, accuracy and completeness as well as consistency across all the systems and channels
  • Build and translate complex data into dashboards and analytical views that supports stakeholders with making decisions
  • Partner with 2LoD functions to ensure consistent risk and control standards across regions

Your skills and experience

  • Advanced proficiency in data modelling tools, database management and analytics, including experience with tools such as Oracle, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Experience designing and delivering data-driven solutions using large volumes of data
  • Proven experience in financial services, preferably within global markets or trading environments
  • Strong understanding of Market Conduct risks and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Experience in and Risk and Controls Assessment, Operational Risk Management, ideally in the Investment Banking domain and knowledge of non-financial risk framework processes and requirements including risk assessment
  • Experience of communicating with senior business management in person, within a large forum, and through email and a proven track record of successfully working within diverse, high performing teams and departments both locally and remotely
