Job summary

SMS Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a Fitter/Mechanic based in the Arbroath area. Working Monday to Friday with overtime, the role offers training and a clear pathway for progression, including the possibility to undertake testing for roadworthiness in due course.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, mechanic, HGV or garage-based environments.
• Ability to follow processes and instructions.
• Experience in a busy manufacturing environment (preferred).

Fitter Mechanic

Our client is continuing to grow and is looking for Fitter/Mechanic based in their site in the Arbroath area. This growth has seen the company turnover increase and their ability to service clients far beyond their expectations. With continued support for training and with a guarantee that personal development will be encouraged and promoted our client is now looking to expand their operations in the Arbroath area.

The Role

This is a fundamental role in the business and will require applicants to be involved in a busy manufacturing environment, the role is for a mechanic or fitter to put together components such as brakes, wheels, lighting, hydraulics, etc. to make the product roadworthy and fit for purpose. Building new with a small amount of repair work. Working in a clean and safe working environment, care and attention to work and work practices, good general housekeeping of work area. Safety will be your number one priority, both for yourself and your colleagues. This role will be workshop-based work Monday to Friday with Over-time. Training will be given and the hope is this role will progress to a point where the applicant can do the testing for roadworthiness.

About You

Applicants should be self-motivated individuals who have some good mechanical, mechanic, HGV or garage-based experience. Working effectively within a team, you'll have the ability to follow processes, instructions and commit to assigned tasks.

Basic Salary £33-38K + Package working Monday to Friday based on a 38hr working week.
